Private bus overturns leaving six injured

Machilipatnam:: A private bus that was travelling with 22 persons on board overturned on the national highway at Telaprolu village limits of Unguturu mandal in Krishna district on Wednesday leaving six injured. Police sources said that all the persons belong to the same family and were natives of Hyderabad. They were heading to Hyderabad from Visakhapatnam after attending a birthday party of one of their family members on Tuesday. Police said that the injured have been admitted to a corporate hospital where their condition is said to be stable.

850 kg of ganja seized and three arrested

Vijayawada:: The Commissioner’s Task Force and the Patamata police seized two vehicles transporting 850 kgs of gnja and arrested three persons who were allegedly smuggling the contraband. According to sources, the accused were reportedly transporting ganja from Visakhapatnam Agency area to Chennai. The accused had hidden the contraband packets in an oil tanker and in another four-wheeler.

Chandrababu to attend WEF summit

Vijayawada:: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu will attend the World Economic Forum’s India Economic Summit-2017 in New Delhi on Thursday. He will participate in an interactive session on ‘Nourishing the Food System’ along with Union Minister for Food Processing Industries Harsimrat Kaur Badal.

Support price for sugarcane fixed

Vizianagaram:: The support price for sugarcane supplied to Bhimsingi Cooperative Sugars has been fixed for this season at Rs.2,600 per tonne according to District Collector and Chairman of the factory Vivek Yadav. Transportation charges have been increased from Rs.50 to Rs.60. The Collector said farmers would be supplied saplings of high yield varieties and fertilizers under the subsidized credit plan.

Post basic B.Sc. Nursing course results announced

Vijayawada:: Dr.NTR University of Health Sciences released the results of the entrance test for admission to post-B.Sc. Jana Sena Party meet from October 7

Vijayawada:: Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena Party is going to host a workshop for aspirants willing to work for it in the city on October 7 and 8. In a release, Pawan Kalyan said the workshop would bring to a close the campaign in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The workshop will be organized at Lorry Owners’ Association Hall near Benz Circle.

NABARD sanctions Rs.273.06 crore

Vijayawada:: The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development has sanctioned Rs.166.51 crore under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund as loan assistance for development of 114 roads and three bridges projects in 12 districts in the State. Out of the sanctioned projects, 95 roads and two bridge projects will be implemented by the Panchayat Raj Department according to NABARD Chief General Manager K.Suresh Kumar in a statement. He said that 422 Rural water Supply projects with an assistance of Rs.106.25 crore were also sanctioned.

Applications invited

Vijayawada:: The government has issued a notification for constitution of the AP State Information Commission. It has invited applications for the posts of three Information Commissioner and one Chief Information Commissioner. Special Chief Secretary Lingaraju Panigrahi on Wednesday said interested candidates should submit their applications as per Section 15 and 16 of the RTI Act, 2005 on or before October 30.
