World Bank team meets Chief Secretary, CRDA officials

VIJAYAWADA:: A World Bank team discussed the progress of developmental projects in Amaravati with Chief Secretary Dinesh Kumar at the Secretariat on Thursday. The delegation comprised, among others, Samesh Wahba and Sumila Gulyani. Earlier, the team interacted with CRDA Commissioner Cherukuri Sreedhar and Special Commissioner V.Rama Mohana Rao.

Probe into cooperative society fraud launched

NELLORE: The district officials have launched a probe into the alleged misappropriation of Rs.2 crore in the Sullurupeta Farmers’ Service Cooperative Society and issued notices to the office bearers concerned seeking their explanation. The officials concerned have also been questioned on why they failed to take preventive steps. The fraud surfaced a few days ago as the officials were verifying records.

State government writes seeking 600 PG and 150 MBBS seats

AMARAVATI:: The AP Medical Education department has written to Centre seeking for sanction of 600 PG medical seats and 150 MBBS seats in all government medical colleges. There were 11 government medical colleges in the State and except ACSR College in Nellore the proposals were sent for all 10 medical colleges . In last year though proposals were sent for 400 seats, only 160 seats were sanctioned.
