Four injured in fire at pharma unit

Tirupati:: Four workers were injured in fire that broke out at Malladi Drugs, a pharmaceutical plant in Gajulamandyam Industrial Estate in Renigunta mandal today. As per preliminary information, there were fatalities. The injured persons were first taken to a nearby hospital and later to the SVRR Government General Hospital. Fire tenders from Puttur, Tirupati and Srikalahasti brought the fire under control. The cause of the fire accident and property loss is yet to be ascertained.

State inks pact with NICDIT

Vijayawada:: The State government has signed the Shareholder’s Agreement with the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust. It is seen as a major step towards on-ground implementation of the Chennai-Bengaluru industrial Corridor that spred across the States of Karnataka, AP and Tamil Nadu.

GST on December 10

Vijayawada:: Girl Education Scholarship Test – 2018 being sponsored by the NTR Trust will be conducted on December 10, 2017 at NTR Girls Junior College, Gandipet, Hyderabad. The test will extend financial support for 25 Intermediate students, Rs.5,000 for the first 10 merit students and Rs.3,000 for the remaining students. Chandrababu claims credit of Hyderabad Metro Rail Service

Vijayawada:: Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu claimed credit for the sanction of the Hyderabad metro and said it was he who got it included in the list of cities for which the project was conceived by the Centre. In a chat with the media in the Assembly lobbies, he said metro railways were initially planned only for Ahmedabad and Bengaluru when he intervened and got Hyderabad on board.

Civil Assistant Surgeons main examination on December 4 and 5

Amaravati:: APPSC Secretary YVST Sai today in a statement said that the online examination for the recruitment of Civil Assistant Surgeons will be held on December 4 and 5. The candidates are advised to bring only hall ticket along with Aadhaar card or ID card for the examination.

BPT examination results announced

Vijayawada:: Dr.NTR University of Health Sciences that conducted the Bachelor of Physiotherapy examination in last October/November, the results of which were announced today. Candidates seeking for retotalling or personal perusal have to pay Rs.500 per paper before December 8 according to Controller of Examinations Dr.D.Vijaya Kumar. Candidates who have applied need to attend on December 21 (College code 28 to 45) and on December 22 (46 to 252) along with their hall ticket at 11am.

High Court court admits PIL against withdrawal of cases on TDP leaders

Hyderabad:: The Hyderabad High Court has admitted a Public Interest Litigation petition filed by the Secretary for Forum for Good Governance M.Padmanabha Reddy. In the petition , the petitioner challenged the decision of the Andhra Pradesh government on withdrawing of cases filed against Assembly Speaker along with Ministers, MLAs, MLCs and other TDP leaders. The Division Bench comprising of Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice Shyam Prasad ordered for issuance of notices to the government. The Division Bench also directed to attch the petition filed by YSRCP MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy and others to the main petition.

Telugu language is a must from Class I to X

Amaravati:: The Special secretary for School Education Aditya Nath Das in a GO No.90 issued today made it clear tht all school managements have to make Telugu language as a compulsory subject right from Class I to X. The students studying in any medium has to take up Telugu as second language.
