Kurnool:: The TDP will address a letter to the Election Commission urging it to bar Leader of the Opposition in Assembly YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who is an accused in several economic offences from heading the political outfit and derecognise the YSRCP according to TDP district president Somisetty Venkateswarulu. He said that Jagan’s name figured in Paradise papers and he owed an explanation on how he amassed wealth and admit his lapses.
Tirupati:: A person allegedly involved in mobilising people for red sanders smuggling was nabbed by the task force officials today. According to Task Force SP P.Ravi Shankar, the accused Murugan alias Muthu hailing from Chengam taluk in Tiruvannamalai district of Tamil Nadu was involved in mobilising people for smuggling red sanders and also arranging tree-cutting tools and provisions.
Kurnool:: Ration cards will be issued to all the eligible beneficiaries I the next phase of the Janmabhoomi programme and will be linked to all the welfare schemes being implemented by the government. AP Civil Supplies Corporation Chairman M.Linga Reddy said. The corporation has been planning to procure paddy from farmers at the price fixed by the government.

Nellore:: YSRCP MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy addressed a letter to the Prime Minister today seeking an amendment to the 10th Scheduled of the Constitution to make Anti-Defection Law more meaningful. He said that the presiding officers of parliamentary and legislative bodies should be asked to dispose of petitions regarding defections within 90 days to check misuse of the provisions to encourage defections. He said that in the past three years nearly 22 MLAs and 3 MPs had defected from the YSRCP to the TDP, regardless of the fact they won the last elections on YSRCP ticket.

He held a meeting with the MPDOs and other officials. Promotions to the Panchayat Secretaries will be given shortly. A resource person would be appointed in every village for proper implementation of government welfare schemes, he said.
