SUV catches fire near Chief Minister’s residence

Guntur:: A SUV aught fire on the Karakatta road just one km away from the residence of the Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu today. The vehicle was heading towards Errabalem village when it caught fire following short-circuit in its air-conditioning, SP, Guntur Urban Ch.Vijaya Rao rushed to the place and supervised the rescue operations. A fire tender was rushed from Mangalagiri and the flames were doused. The driver and others inside the vehicle were safely came out of the vehicle before it burnt to ashes.

CPI State mahasabha from March 9

Kurnool:: The CPI’s 26th State mahasabha will be organised in Kadapa for four days from March 9 next year according to its district secretary G.Eswaraiah. Party State secretary K.Ramakrishna, AITUC State general secretary G.Obulesu, MLC K.Narasimha Reddy, former MLC P.J.Chandrasekhara Rao and leaders from four Rayalaseema districts would attend a reception committee meeting in Kadapa on November 26.

Award for SVVU Vice Chancellor Hari Babu

Tirupati:: Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University Vice Chancellor Y.Haribabu has been selected for the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award-2017’ by the Indian Association of Veterinary Microbiologists, Immunologists and Specialists in infectious Diseases. It will be presented to him during the association’s annual conference at the university on January 29, 2018.

Vamsaddhara Phase 2 by March next

Srikakulam:: Minister for BC Welfare and Transport K.Atchannaidu today said that the government would take all steps for the completion of Vamsadhara phase -2 project by March 2018. He said that it would irrigate more than 45,000 acres and stabilize existing ayacut in the district. He formally inaugurated new circle office of the Irrigation department. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the government would spend Rs.1,055 crore for strengthening embankments of both Nagavali and Vamsadhara rivers.

Eight IAS officers to retire in 2018

Amaravati:: As many as eight IAS officers will be retiring from services during 2018. The term of the Chief Secretary Dinesh Kumar comes to an end by September. The retiring officiers are Ch.Vijaya Mohan, B.Ramananjaneyulu, M.Jagannadham, G.Ravi Babu, YV Anuradha, A.R.Sukumara, Dinesh Kumar and B.Kishore.

RTC management agrees for leave encashment

Amaravati:: The APSRTC management has agreed for leave encashment for the year 2015 according to a statement issued by NMU State president Challa Chandraiah today.
