Tiruchanur brahmotsavams off to a colourful note

Tirupati:: Minister for Industries Amarnath Reddy on behalf of the State government offered silk vastarms to goddess Padmavathi Devi on the first day of annual brahmotsavams in Tiruchanur today. He carrying vastarms was welcomed amidst vedic chants by Tirupati JEO Pola Bhaskar and temple Special Grade Deputy EO Munirathnam Reddy. The nine-day celestial event was off to a colourful note with the gajadhwajarohana mahotsavam.

YSRCP allegations on NREGS decried

Velagapudi:: TDP MLA K.Mrunalini said that material component worth Rs.5,000 crore under MGNREGS had been wasted in the State during the Congress rule. Speaking on ‘Social infrastructure in villages-convergence of funds under MGNRGES’ during a short discussion allowed by the Speaker in the Assembly. She said that the people in villages were appreciative of the government for creating infrastructure under the scheme, whereas YSRCP tried its best to hamper the scheme with ulterior motives, she said.

Bail out Fathima college students

Vijayawada:: YSRCP president Jagan Mohan Reddy wrote a letter to the Union Minister for Health J.P.Nadda seeking his intervention in solving the problems faced by the 2015-16 batch MBBS students of Fathima Institute of Medical Sciences. He said the FIMS affiliated to the Dr.NTRUHS did not have the MCI permission to admit the students during the first and second phases of counselling for the said year but filled 100 seats during the third phase after obtaining interim orders from the High Court. The admissions were cancelled by MCI. The proposal to relocate them in other colleges was rejected by the MCI and Supreme Court. He requested the Health Minister to facilitate relocation of the students.

3,838 acres to CRDA

Amaravati:: The State government has allotted 3,838 acres of land to CRD. The Government has issued a GO to this effect to hand over the lands to CRDA for free of cost. The lands allotted are meant for the construction of capital of the State.

Special train between Hyderabad and Kakinada Port

Vijayawada:: The South Central Railway will run a special train between Hyderabad and Kakinada Port-Hyderabad. Accordingly, the train No. 07075 will leave at 6.50pm on 23rd at Hyderabad and arrive at 5.45am on the next day to Kakinada Port. Train No. 07076 Kakinada Port-Hyderabad will leave at 6pm on November 26 and reach Hyderabad at 6.50am on the next day.

State gets another 28 IAS posts

Amaravati:: The Central Government has sanctioned another 28 IAS officer posts to the State. The Chief Secretary Dinesh Kumar on Wednesday issued a notification and with this the total number of IAS officers had gone to 239 from 211. At present there is one Chief Secretary ad two additional Chief Secretaries will now three additional Chief Sectaries. Currently there was 115 duty posts that have been increased to 130 as part of review and the Principal Secretary/Commissioner posts had gone to 16 from 12. Likewise, the Director posts had gone to 28 from the existing 22.
