  • Kurnool:: Teachers support advocates struggle for High Court:: Advocates took out a rally to the Collectorate today demanding that the High Court be set up in Rayalaseema in accordance with the Sribagh Pact. The government should take the initiative to resolve the issue by holding discussions with the advocates, Kurnool Bar Association president Y.Nagalakshmi Devi said. Leaders of the AP Teachers’ Federation and the State Teachers’ Union and members of the Bhavasara Kshatriya Sangham joined the rally expressing their solidarity with the advocates.
  • Srikakulam:: Resume land allotted to thermal power plant:: The Left parties have asked the government to scrap all the orders including GO No.1107 which enabled East Coast Energy Private Limited to get land at throwaway price.. They sought distribution of the land among farmers and the poor as the company is not in a position to complete construction of thermal power plant at Karapalli in the district. CPI(M) district secretary Bhaiviri Krishnamurthy and senior party leader Chowdary Tejeswara Rao said the company was given 2,050 acres at Rs.1.5 lakh per acre during the Congress regime. ‘The State is surplus in power and there is no need for the power plant. The government should take back the land immediately’, they said.
  • Vijayawada:: CPI hails JSP panel’s work:: CPI State secretary K.Ramakrishna today appreciated the Joint Fact Finding Committee of Pawan Kalyan for coming up with the amount to the State by the Centre. Speaking to media, he said the committee after making a detailed study had said that Rs.75,000 crore was to be given to the State by the Central government under various heads. He said that the Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor was yet to get a single rupee. Similarly, no funds were released for the Kakinada Petro Complex. For Institutions of national importance, a paltry Rs.853 crore was released and an amount of Rs.10,800 was still pending.
  • New Delhi:: AP Non Political JAC extends support to YSRCP dharna:: AP Non-political JAC announced of its support to YSRCP dharna for achieving SCS and other issues as were mentioned in the AP Reorganization Act. The members of the AP Non-political JAC expressed their protest by begging on the Delhi streets.
