Vijayawada:: Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will launch a ‘Vanam-Manam’ programme of planting one crore saplings on a single day on July 1 at Kondaveedu in Guntur district. In a review meeting at his residence along with Ministers for Environment and Forests Sidda Raghava Rao on the programmes of the department and Wildlife Board today said that the collective effect endeavor should to increase 23 per cent to 50 per cent by the year 2029. He suggested that trees be grown along railway lines and roads ad check dams and rock-fil dams constructed to prevent waste of rainwater.
Vijayawada:: Nuzvid MRO D.Vanajakshi against whom the police registered a case under SC/ST Act had lodged a complaint against Congress leader Vakkalagadda Vijay Bhaskar for allegedly harassing her over phone. According to police, she complained that Vijay Bhaskar had made phone calls at odd hours when was on leave and used abusive language. The Nuzvid police registered a case against the accused. Vijay Bhaskar lodged a complaint against the MRO alleging she had insulted him over phone and urged the police to register a case under the Act. Nuzvid DSP V.Srinivas who is investigating the case said that the police registered a case against Vijay Bhaskar two months ago and also against the MRO a couple of days ago. The police will inquire into the call details of both, he said.
Amaravati:: AP Chief Secretary Dinesh Kumar has issued orders entrusting full additional charge as Principal Secretary, BC Welfare department. At present she is the secretary, Board of Intermediate Education. The IPS officer G.Ananta Ramu was relieved of his duties.
