NTR Trust calls for applications from ‘silpis’

Vijayawada:: NTR Trust has invited applications from ‘silpis’ (sculptors) to make statues of N.T.Rama Rao in fibre medium. Trust’s CEO T.Vishnuvardhan on Friday said it had plans to open a museum titled ‘Telugu vari gnapakam’ in Amaravati. The silpis would have to make the statues by taking the main roles NTR played in films. Interested candidates can send their applications on or before June 30 by mail info@ntrutrust.org.

YSRCP to complain against Chief Minister

Kurnool:: YSRCP leaders on Friday accused Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu of advising TDP leaders to ensure the party’s victory in the Nandyal by-election by unleashing money power and said that they would lodge a complaint with the police against Chandrababu. Charging Chandrababu Naidu, YSRCP general secretary BY Ramaiah said that Chandrababu Naidu was reluctant to conduct elections to the Kurnool Municipal Corporation fearing defeat of the ruling party.

Andhra Pradesh stands first in urban reforms for 2016-17

Vijayawada:: The urban reforms implemented by the State government made it to the top position in the country with 96.56 per cent marks for the year 2016-17. Director of Municipal Administration K.Kanna Babu received the award from Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation M.Venkaiah Naidu at a National Workshop on Urban Transformation in New Delhi on Friday. Minister P.Narayana said the reforms in 13 functional areas of Department of Municipal Administration earned the distinction for the State.

Congress supports Mudragada Padmanabham

Vijayawada:: APCC president N.Raghuveera Reddy met Kapu leader and former Minister Mudragada Padmanabham in Kirlampudi today and extended full support to his proposed padayatra seeking inclusion of Kapus in the list of BCs. Speaking to media after the meeting, he said that Chandrababu Naidu made 126 caste related promises to different communities but not even one had been fulfilled in the State after he came to power. Speaking at an Iftar feast hosted by Congress at Andhra Ratna Bhavan, he said that the TDP had ruled for three years without any representation from the Muslim community in the Cabinet.

Six lakhs jobs by 2019’, says Lokesh

Chittoor:: AP Minister for IT Nara Lokesh said that the State government was committed to generate six lakh jobs for youth by 2019 and steps were initiated to accelerate industrial growth. Addressing a public meeting at Pileru town, he said that a Cabinet sub-committee headed by Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu is looking into the modalities on providing unemployment allowance to the youth.

Ayush PG entrance test on August 6

Vijayawada:: Dr.NTR University of Health Sciences Registrar S.Appala Naidu said that the admissions for PG courses in Ayush will be held on August 6. The entrance test will be computer based one. The ‘All India Ayush Post Graduation Entrance Test’ is being conducted by All India Institute of Ayurveda society. Interested candidates can apply through online.
