Iftar party at Nandyal by Chief Minister

Vijayawada:: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu will host this year’s Iftar party at Nandyal in Kurnool district. Chandrababu said this while launching the distribution of ‘Ramzan Tofa’ kits to Muslim families at Tummalapalli Kalashetram on Monday. Addressing the gathering, he said the festival kits would be given away up to June 27 to about 11.30 lakh families. Each kit costs about Rs.500.

35 liquor bottles seized at Tirumala

Tirumala:: In a major haul, Excise police personnel on Monday seized 35 bottles of liquor bottles along with the private vehicle in which it was being smuggled to Tirumala where possession, consumption and sale of alcohol is strictly prohibited. Acting on a tip off, the officials intercepted a private vehicle at the Alipiri checking point and seized the bottles hidden in the doors of the vehicle.

TDP seeks YSRCP cooperation for Nandyal election

Kurnool:: TDP Central Disciplinary Committee member Somisetty Venkateswarlu who took over as Kurnool district TDP president today appealed to the Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to cooperate for unanimous election of TDP candidate Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy. Speaking to media, he recalled that TDP did not field a candidate in the by-election caused by the death of Allagadda MLA Sobha Nagi Reddy and urged the YSRCP to follow the tradition. Venkateswarlu who joined the TDP since its inception had earlier served as Kurnool district party president for 16 years in his 36 year long political career.
