Vizianagaram:: Union Minister for Civil Aviation P.Ashok Gajapati Raju today inaugurated a wet garbage converter into organic fertilizer, switched on the electronic display board showing vegetable rates and CC cameras at Rythu Bazar. He said that the garbage converter unit was the first of its kind established as a pilot project in the State. He said that based on the performance, the facility would be extended to other areas. Joint Collector Srikesh B.Lathkar said the machine would make 25 kgs of organic wet waste into power within 20 minutes. After decomposing it for a week, it would be used as an organic manure, he said.
Kurnool:: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu will lay foundation stone for the airport at Orvakal in the district on June 21. Speaking at the launch of the three day ‘Punnami Orvakal’, Deputy Chief Minister K.E.Krishna Murthy said that the government granted Rs.3 crore for the festival. Minister for Tourism Bhuma Akhila Priya promised to develop tourism in all the districts.
Tirupati:: Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy was taken in a procession in a palanquin as part of the ‘Pallaki Utsavam’ observed on the fifth day of annual Brahmotsavams at Appalayagunta today. Decorated with rare jewels and ornaments befitting the occasion, the processional deity was taken around the four Mada streets of the temple. In the evening, ‘Garuda Seva’ was held.
