Renuka Chowdary’s mother passed away

Hyderabad:: Former Union Minister and Rajya Sabha Member Renuka Chowdary’s mother Vasundara(84) passed away on Wednesday night due to old age ailments. The final rites will be held on Thursday at 11am at Mahaprastanam according to sources.

‘MLA RK to purchase Sadavarthi lands else petitions to IT’, says Minister Lokesh

Vijayawada:: Minister for Information Technology Nara Lokeshsaid that in accordance with the High Court orders, YSRCP MLA Alla Ramakrishna (RK) has to purchase the Sadavarthi lands by paying Rs.5 crore or else would submit a petition to the Income Tax authorities. He was here to participate in the TDP Coordination Committee meeting and speaking to media, he said that MLA Ramakrishna Reddy told that he had no white money to purchase the lands. He said that it means to say that he had black money. He said that if Alla Ramakrishna Reddy purchase lands in the name of his benamis, he would lodge a complaint with the Income Tax authorities.

Central Expressway launched in Sri City

Chittoor:: Sri City, an integrated business city spread over the Varadayapalem, Satyavedu and Tada mandals on the Chittoor-Nellore border on Thursday launched its ambitious four-lane, 9 km Central Expressway that joins the intersection on the NH-16 ad the Customs point. Sri City MD Ravindra Sannareddy and Satyavedu CI Narasimhulu performed puja and flagged off the vehicular traffic.

Former MLA N.Ranga Swamy Naidu passed away

Chittoor:: Former TDP MLA N.Ranga Swamy Naidu passed away in the early hours of Thursday while undergoing treatment at a corporate hospital in Bengaluru. Ranga Swamy Naidu had contested as an independent and wrested the Kuppam seat from the Congress in 1983. In 1985 by-election, he had contested as TDP candidate and won with a thumping majority. In the 1989 selections, he withdrew from contest on the advice of N.T.Rama Rao to facilitate N.Chandrababu Naidu to make an entry from Kuppam.

Prasadam counter at Tirumala to be re-located

Tirumala:: As part of its efforts to further de-congest the inner portals of Tirumala Temple, the TTD is toying with the idea of shifting the prasadam distribution counters. The existing counters are located a few yards away from the Vendi Vakili and this is leading to congestion at the exit point. The area is in the vicinity of ‘Poola Bavi’, which served as prasadam distribution point about two decades ago is seen as an ideal location.

1 lakh toilets to be constructed

Vizianagaram:: The district administration constructed 10,000 toilets in 100 hours between March 10 and 14 by involving residents, leaders, officials and representatives of NGOs. Seventy one gram panchayats were declared ODF. The district is now geared up to construct 50,000 household toilets by August 15 and another by 50,000 by October 2.

State government retrenches 800 paramedical staff

Amaravati:; The State government has issued a memo retrenching 800 paramedical staff working in Homeo department. The staff have not been paid salaries for the period April 2016 to till now for nearly 15 months. There are 136 doctors working in 587 Ayush. With this the families are on the roads. The staff working in Ayush are getting their wages from National Rural Health Mission. The government closed 451 Ayush medical departments on the ground of lack of doctors. The memo was issued on the plea of having paramedical staff where there is no doctor resuting in the retrenchment of nearly 800 staff.
