Chittoor:: The Chittoor II Town police today booked cases against CPI(M) national leader B.V.Raghavulu and 43 others and MLC Yandavalli Srinivasulu Reddy on the charges of unlawful gathering and disruption of traffic in front of the Collectorate on July 22. They staged a protest in front of the Collectorate on Dalit issue that led to a traffic snarl for about three hours on the busy Chittoor-Vellore road.
Tirupati:: With the completion of the term of VC of Sri Venkateswara Vedic University, K.E.Devanathan today handed over the charge to the TTD JEO Pola Bhaskar. As per the directive of Governor and University Chancellor E.S.L.Narasimhan, Bhaskar assumed office full charge of the TTD funded university.
Kirlampudi:: Women in large number staged a protest at the residence of Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham’s residence today by banging eating plates with spoons at 12noon to take the reservation issue further. Padmanabham’s wife Padmavati, daughter-in-law Siri and granddaughter Bhogi along with JAC leaders Vasireddy Yesudas, Akula Ramakrishna, Goutu Swami participated in the programme. The protesters raised slogans against Chandrababu government for its inaction. In Amalapuram, Kapu youth wearing masks staged a dharna at the residence of JAC leader Kalavakolanu Tataji. Similar protests were held at Mummidivaram and P.Gannavaram.
ANU:: Acharya Nagarjuna University that conducted M.Phil Part I, pre-Ph.D in January have been announced on Monday by Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajendra Prasad. The results can be had on http://www.anu.ac.in. He said that out of 869 candidates appeared in 36 subjects, only 758 candidates were qualified. Speaking on the occasion RCET notification will be issued may be delay.
Amaravati:: Central Design Organization Chief Engineer M.Giridhar Reddy has been entrusted with additional charge as Engineer-in-Chief for Irrigation department and the Principal Secretary Sasibhushan has issued orders to this effect.
Amaravati:: Twenty staff members working in Commercial Tax department have been promoted and the orders have been issued by the department of Revenue. Four Assistant Commissioners K.Srinivasa Rao, S.Rambabu, Y.Bhavana Mohan, V.S.Kiran Chowdary were promoted as Deputy Commissioners. Another eight officers were promoted as Assistant Commissioners. Those who got promotion and waiting for postings have been given postings.
