Ongole:: The Police on Monday unearthed a Maoist dump from the forests close to Ganepalli Village near Ardhaveedu in Prakasam district. A special police party combing the forest under the supervision of OSD K.Lavanya Lakshmi chanced upon two milk cans which contained rocket launcher spare parts, hidden probably during 2002 when the Maoists were active in the Nallamalla forests Superintendent of Police P.B.Staya Yesu Babu said.
Tirumala:: The Festival of Purification-Pavitrotsavams, which made its entry in the long list of annual rituals that are being observed in the famous shrine of Tirumala temple by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTDs) every year will be performed from August 3 to 5 for three days with Ankurarpanam on August 2.This annual festival will be observed on the important days of Ekadasi, Dwadasi and Trayodasi in the month of Sravana as per Hindu calendar. This festival was first instituted by Saluva Mallaiah Deva Raja in 1463 A.D. at Tirumala during the period of Saluva Narasimha as per the inscription 157 present on inner prakaram of Srivari Temple.On the first day of Pavithra Homam, second day Pavitra Samarpana and on final day Purnahuti will be observed in the temple. TTD has cancelled Vasanthotsavam and Sahasra Deeplankara Seva on August 2, Tiruppavada, Nija Pada Darshanam, Kalyanotsavam, Dolotsavam, arjitha brahmotsavam, vasanthotsavam and Sahasra Deepalankara Seva on the remaining days.

The results can be had on www.anucde.info . The last date for applying revaluation is August 7 and the applications for the same has to be invariably reach the office by August 9. The revaluation fee per paper is fixed at Rs.960, he said.
Amaravati:: The EECET-2017 counselling for admission into diploma/BSC (Maths) for admission into Engineering and Pharma colleges in the second year has been completed. Admission Committee convener GS Pandas said that 19,422 candidates were allotted seats. Out of 30,877 qualified, only 20,141 have appeared for certificate verification and 50,558 seats were unfilled, he said.
