Attack on the residence of Director of Kapu Corporation

Rajamahendravaram:: Some miscreants have attacked the residence of the Director of Kapu Corporation Yarra Venugopal Rayudu on Saturday midnight. They damaged the car parked in the premises which was slightly damaged. Venugopal Rayudu lodged a complaint with the police alleging that it was the act of the followers of Mudragada Padmanabham.

Home Minister’s advice to journalists

Kakinada:: Home Minister Nimmakayala Chinarajappa today said that the government would protect the interests of genuine journalists but would not be able to extend the same generosity to those who use the media with vested interests. Addressing the general body of the East Godavari unit of AP Union of Working Journalists, he asked them to continue to play a proactive role but desist from using the media to spread intended news with negative approach.

Bid to burgle Karur Vysya Bank

Kurnool:: Miscreants made a bid to burgle the Karur Vysya Bank branch near Kurnool II Town Police station in the wee hours of Sunday. Four persons were said to have gained entry into the bank by removing a window when the security personnel were not around. When they tried to snap the wires of the CC cameras, the alarm went off, and they too their heels, said the police.

Tangutur police continue raids on belt shops

Ongole:: Continuing the raids on belt shops, the Tangutur police arrested one person and seized 24 (180ml) bottles of liquor from him on Sunday. With this, the police had so far seized 133.11 litres of IMF Land 10 litres of beer from unauthorized outlets. In all 12 persons were arrested in the Ongole Excise district after registering 16 cases in the last four days said Excise Superintendent T.Srinivasa Rao.
