Tirumala temple closed

Tirupati:: The doors of the hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara Swamy were closed for 10 hours from 11am today in connection with lunar eclipse. After the conclusion of the eclipse, priests performed rituals inside the temple.

N.Srinivasa Rao has been appointed as OSD to Civil Aviation Minister

Vijayawada:: Nomula Srinivasa Rao has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty to Civil Aviation Minister P.Ashok Gajapathi Raju. His appointment was cleared by the Appointments Committee by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Srinivasa Rao has been working with Ashok Gajapathi Raju since 1994 and became his additional private secretary once the latter took over as Union Minister. He has postgraduate degrees in Journalism and Law from Osmania University.

National Lok Adalat on February 10

Vijayawada:: A National Lok Adalat will be organised throughout the State on February 10 for settling cases pending in courts according to a press release by AP State Legal Services Authority member secretary P.V.Rambabu. He stated that the exercise was being held as per the directions of the Executive Chairman of the National Legal Services Authority and Acting Chief Justice of the Hyderabad High Court.

Task force announces cash prize

Tirupati:: A day after finding electronic devices and spare parts in the Simhachalam forests, the Red Sanders Anti-Smuggling Task Force has announced a cash prize of Rs.10,000 for those providing clues that can help the police take the case to its logical end. The police have started contacting the Q branch in Chennai, the intelligence wing of the Tamil Nadu police.
