Chandana Yatra organized in Simhachalanagar today

Rajamahendravaram:: Annual festival of Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swami which is known as ‘Chandana Yatra’ followed by Swami Nijaroopa darshan’ was organized in the temple complex in Simhachalanagar today. This is the 17th year that ‘Chandanotsavam’ was held along with ‘sahasra ghatabhishekam’. On Friday, Garuda Seva procession of Lakshmi Narasimha Swami was organized in the main streets of the city. ‘Tadiyaradhana’ and ‘homams’ will be performed along with ‘nitya roopa Darshanam’ on Sunday will be organized on Sunday and Monday.

Scribes take out rally following closure of Press Club

Vizianagaram:: Journalists, affiliated to the APUWJ today took out a rally from IMA Hall to the Collector’s Office in protest against seizure of Press Club recently. APUWJ State leaders Nalli Dharma Rao and D.Atchuta Rao and others participated in the rally and performed human chain at the Collector’s office. Following a dispute among journalists unions over the club building, District Collector Vivek Yadav has ordered the DPRO and Tehsildar to seal the premises until further orders. The APWJF and JAAP leaders have been demanding for some time that all journalists be provided access to the building. They even submitted a representation to Union Civil Aviation Minister P.Ashok Gajapathi Rao and District in-charge Minsiter Ganta Srinivasa Rao and District Collector seeking suitable action on the issue.

INA wants to take part in ‘Haritha Haram’

Kadiyam (EG Dist.):: Indian Nurserymen Association has appealed to the Telangana State government to take plants being supplied by them for ‘Haritha Haram’ taken up by the government. INA general secretary Pulla Veera Venkata Rao in a statement today said that he met the Governor ESL Narasimhan and Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhara Rao and appealed them to support Kadiyam nursery farmers who are ready to take part in the plantation programme.

Training given on tiger census

Rajamahendravaram:: One day training programme was conducted today at the AP State Forest Academy to data entry operators who are working in forest officers in Rajamahendravram comprising six districts on tiger census. Addressing the operators, APSFA Joint Director YS Naidu said that tiger census will be done once in four years and after 2014 the Central government has taken up the programme this year in all the States.

Acting Chief Justice attend Law University meeting

Sabbavaram (Visakhapatnam):: The Acting Chief Justice of Hyderabad High Court Justice Ramesh Ranganathan has today attended the Damodara Sanjeeviah National Law University Council meeting. He along with High Court Judge Justice Rama Subramanyam, Advocate General D.Srinivas, Law Secretary DV Ramana, Odisha National Law University Vice Chancellor Prof. Sri Krishna Deva Rao, Dr.BR Ambedkar National Law University (Tamil Nadu) vice chancellor Prof.Vijayakumar attended the meeting.

Justice Nagarjuna Reddy inaugurates Court complex

Narsipatnam(Visakhapatnam):: High Court Judge Justice C.V.Nagarjuna Reddy today inaugurated the Court complexes that were constructed at a cost of Rs.3 crore today. Speaking on the occasion, he said that delay in delivering the judgement will cause injustice and may lead to loose faith on the judiciary. He said that earlier, the cases were running from 15 to 20 years but with the recent Supreme Court directions, the time frame set for 5 years resulting in speedy disposal of the cases. He said that with this the pending cases have reduced to 6% from 12% during the last eleven months.
