Wheelchair bound MP SPY Reddy campaigns in Nandyal

Kurnool:: Nandyal MP SPY Reddy went round in his wheel chair and joined the Rajya Sabha Member T.G.Venkatesh in canvassing for TDP candidate Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy. They went round the 27th and the 28th municipal wards in Nandyal town and urged voters to elect the TDP candidate. They said that the Chief Minister is committed for the development of Nandyal.

Child marriage averted

Ongole:: A joint team of the Childline India Foundation, ICDS and the police have averted the marriage of a 16 year-old-girl with a man seen years older than her at Pakala near Singarayakonda in Prakasam district. The team rushed to the village and stopped the marriage late on Sunday. The girl’s parents arranged the marriage against her wishes, said Childline district coordinator M.Kishore Kumar. They counselled the girl’s parents who gave an undertaking that they would not perform the girl’s marriage before she turned 18 years.

YSRCP leader Botcha Satyanarayana calls on Mudragada Padmanabham

Kirlampudi:: YSRCP leader Botcha Satyanarayana today called on Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham. Speaking to media after the meeting, he said that the Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is taking the law into his hands by confining the Kapu leader to his house illegally. He said that Mudragada Padmanabham is not asking any thing except to implement the promise made by Chandrababu. Meanwhile, the police did not allow Mudragada who came out of his house to take out padayatra.

MLC Budha Venkanna seeks police to open rowdy sheet against Jagan Mohan Reddy

Vijayawada:: MLC Budha Venkanna and AP Housing Corporation Chairman Varla Ramaiah appealed the police to open a rowdy sheet against the Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly and president of YSRCP Jagan Mohan Reddy. In a representation submitted to the DGP on Monday, they said that Jagan threatened many bureaucrats earlier and even the Chief Minister now and asked the police to keep a vigil on the movements of Jagan. DGP told them that he directed the concerned officers to send a report.

Four pharma clusters will be opened

Vijayawada:: Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu in a meeting with the representatives of Pharmaceutical Exports Promotion Council of India, Drugs Control Organization and entrepreneurs form pharma sector said that four mega pharmaceutical clusters would be developed at Atchutapuram-Rambilli in Visakhapatnam district, Krishnapatnam (Nellore), Pulivendula (Kadapa) and Dindi (East Godavari). He said that a task force would be constituted to facilitate the establishment of formula drugs and active pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturing plants in these clusters.

CPI demands withdrawal of police from Vamsadhara site

Vijayawada:: CPI(M) State secretary P.Madhu on Monday demanded the government to withdraw police force that was posted in thousands including 20 DSPs and 40 Sis from the Vamsadhara project site in Srikakulam. Speaking to media, he said nearly 80,000 people living in 40 villages and habitations of Srikakulam district were affected owing to construction of the project.

APSRTC announces 50% concession to children

Amaravati:: APSRTC has announced concession to children along with senior citizens in all its services. The Executive Director Jayarao on Monday issued orders. Children with less than 5 years of age can travel free of cost while those between 5 to 12 years will get 25% concession in AC services and 50% concession in all services including Super Luxury and Express services. To avail the concession, the passengers have to show age declaration certificate.

91% candidates take Group III examination

Amaravati:: The Group III examination that was conducted by APPSC for the recruitment of 1,055 Panchayat Secretary posts held on 6 and 7 registered 91% attendance. It may be recalled that the computer based examination was held on August 6 in Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Chittoor, Kadapa, Anantapur and on August 7 in Vizianagaram, East Godavari, Nellore and Kurnool.
