Private agriculture colleges opposed

Srikakulam:: Students of Naira Agriculture College today organized an agitation opposing the permission being given to many private agriculture colleges in the State. They alleged that the government was allowing many new colleges without taking permission from the Union government authorities concerned. They staged a protest for two hours obstructing traffic movement on Amadalavalasa-Srikakulam route.

Free distribution of sacred threads

Vizianagaram:: On the occasion of Sravana Poornima on Monday, Brahmana Samkshema Samkhya would be distributing 10,000 sacred threads free of cost to the needy from 8am to 10am. At Bonkul Dibba and Cantonment Junction in the town on Sunday said the Samakhya general secretary B.Chakravarthi in a release.

Chandrababu Naidu to visit LI project on Sunday

Rajamahendravaram:: Chief Minsiter Nara Chandrababu Naidu will visit Purushottapatnam on Monday to review the progress of the Lift Irrigation project. He will reach Seethanagaram mandal at 10.50am by helicopter and proceed by road to the project site by 11.15am. After inspecting the works, he will return to Seethanagaram by 12.25pm and will visit the Polavaram project and conduct a review meeting from 1.15pm to 5pm.

Stop getting personal, says Malladi Vishnu

Novel protest by Mudragada Padmanabham

Kirlampudi:: Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham and his followers staged a novel protest today against denial of permission to launch ‘Chalo Amaravati’ padayatra. When the leader and his followers came out to take a padayatra that was objected by the police. Mudragada and his followers took out flowers from their pockets and put them in their ears. ‘They are citing Supreme Court directions but when was unable to provide a copy, he said.
