Vijayawada:: P.K.Mohapatra took as the Regional Executive Director-South of NTPC in Secunderabad on Friday. He is at present the Regional Executive Director of Western Regional II at Raipur in Chattisgarh and will hold additional charge as RED-South. He joined NTPC in 1980. As head of Sipat, he had played a vital role in installing NTPC’s first super critical technology based 660 MW units.
Vijayawada:: City based Efftronics Systems Private signed an MoU with Japanese Artificial Intelligence firm Exaintelligence Inc., for collaboration in the development of smart solutions for Indian Smart Cities. It is a two-year accord aimed at developing A1 algorithms using Indian data and exploring its potential to add value to the smart city solutions.
Kurnool:: YSRCP candidate Silpa Mohan Reddy and nine other candidates filed their nomination papers for the Nandyal byelection on Friday. He went in a rally from his house and filed two sets of nomination papers before Returning Officer Prasanna Venkatesh in the Nandyal RDO office.
Vijayawada:: The whereabouts of Korlapati Surya Kumari (25) who has been missing since August 1 was not known till date and the police teams are trying to trace the doctor. Her alleged boyfriend, Bobbili Vidyasagar against whom Surya Kumari’s family members expressed suspicion denied his role in her missing. Three days ago, K.Mariyamma, mother of the doctor lodged a missing complaint with Machavaram police and suspected Vidyasagar’s hand behind it. Police questioned Vidyasagar and formed special teams to trace the missing doctor. Vidyasagar said Surya Kumari was his friend but denied having any affair with her.
Kurnool:: Kurnool MP Butta Renuka called on Prime Minister Modi today and urged him to exempt the textile and handloom sector from the purview of GST. The government levied 5% GST on cotton fibre, yarn and fabric against nil taxation and placed silk and jute in the nil tax category, she explained him.
