CRDA public consultations on August 29 and 30

The CRDA will organize public consultation workshops at Thullur and Neerukonda on August 29 and Anantavaram and Venkatapalem on August 30. The workshops will elicit opinion on the draft environmental and social management framework, draft resettlement policy framework, resettlement action plans for 10 sub-arterial roads and flood management and environmental management plan for 10 sub-arterial roads.

RSSDI Fellowship for diabetologist

Tirupati:: Diabetologist P.Krishna Prashanti has been selected for the prestigious Fellowship of the Research Society of Study of Diabetes in India, New Delhi for her contributions to the field in the last 17 years. Of the 16 selected for the Fellowship, she is the only one from Andhra Pradesh. Her research project on ‘diabetes foot’ submitted to CMC, Vellore fetched her a national award. She also authored a chapter on ‘infections in diabetes’ in the 2015 Medicine textbook.

Memorial for Yerpedu victims unveiled

Tirupati:: The memorial for Yerpedu victicms, who lost their lives when a truck ran over them ner the Srikalahasti Highway on April 21 was unveiled by Rashtriya Seva Samithi general secretary G.Muniratnam at Munagalapalem on Wednesday. The event witnessed a steady stream of people including those from the neighbouring villages as they assembled to pay tributes to the deceased. The 30 foot memorial has the bust of a typical farmer with turban and wooden plough on his shoulder. It has also the names of all those who were killed in the incident inscribed on a pillar.

Former IAS officer I.V.Subba Rao appointed as secretary to Vice-President of India Venkaiah Naidu

Former IAS officer I.V.Subba Rao has been appointed as secretary to the Vice President of India M.Venkaiah Naidu. He will be in the post for a period of two years. Subba Rao hails from Andhra Pradesh and an IAS officer of 1979 batch retired in August 2015.

Seats increased in four IIITs

Idupulapaya IIIT Director Bhavannarayana, AO Amarendra Kumar in a statement said that 656 seats will be filled up in four IIITs at Idupulapaya, Ongole, Nuzvid and Srikakulam. Each IIIT will be having 164 seats. The counselling process will begin on August 23 at Idupulapaya for Idupulapaya and Ongole and at Nuzvid for Nuzvid and Srikakulam IIITs.
