GUNTUR: Woman Maoist nabbed::A DCM cadre woman Maoist leader operating on the Andhra Orissa Border and in Chhattisgarh area has been arrested by a special police team of Guntur. Superintendent of Police Narayan Naik on Wednesday said that Bhutam Annapoorna alias Padma alias Aruna was picked up at Thallayapalem of Thullur mandal.

HYDERABAD: Special Train between Tirupati and Secunderabad:: Train No 02763 Tirupati- Secunderabad Special train will depart Tirupati at 22:40 hrs on 8th April, 2016 and arrive Secunderabad at 11:00 hrs on the next day. Enroute, this special train will stop at Renigunta, Sri Kalahasti, Gudur, Nellore, Ongole, Tenali, Vijayawada, Khammam, Mahbubabad, Warangal, Kazipet and Jangaon stations.

Forty HCU students detained:: The ‘Chalo HCU’ protest today turned into a crisis with over 40 students from outside the University were detained by the police for blocking the road and raising slogans. A group of students surrounded the VC Appa Rao’s lodge in the campus where the Academic council meeting was scheduled to take place. Wednesday's Academic Council meeting saw stormy scenes before it began when Prof. Krishna, Controller of Examinations, quit his administrative position and walked out to show dissent against the continuation of Prof. Rao.

Vaastu expert Chandramouli Reddy passed away:: Former chairman of AP Dairy Development Cooperative Federation Limited and a well-known Vaastu expert, K. Chandramouli Reddy (80) passed away on Tuesday. He served as director of AP Small Scale Industries Development Corporation and Special Director of Associated Cement Companies Ltd. Alagappa University, Karaikudi, honoured him with Doctor of Letters (honoris causa) in 1996. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed his condolences over the death of Chandramouli Reddy.

TIRUMALA: Maharashtra government to allot 2.4 acres of land to TTD::The Maharashtra government has come forward to allot 2.4 acres of land to the TTD for construction of a temple of Lord Venkateswara Swamy in Mumbai according to a release issued by TTD PRO. TTD EO D.Sambasiva Rao and Chairman Ch.Krishnamurty on Wednesday met Maharashtra Chief Minister Fadnavis in Mumbai and formally handed him over a letter of representation on behalf of AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. Fadnavis expressed his willingness to allot the land in Belapur in Navi Mumbai.

VISAKHAPATNAM: Dr.LB College gets ‘A’ grade by NAAC:: Dr. Lankapalli Bullayya College was awarded ‘A’ grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The college that was established about 43 years ago officers undergraduate programmes in nine combinations and postgraduate programmes.

Three accused arrested in III Town CI trap case:: The Gajuwaka police have arrested the key accused in the Three Town Police Station Crime Inspector K.S.N.Konda trap case by the ACB for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.1 lakh from a complainant. The arrested were identified as Surada Indira, wife of one Ananda Rao. The inspector was arrested by the ACB last month while accepting bribe to settle a land issue in MVP Colony.
