Amaravati:: RTC parcel services will have insurance coverage:: RTC MD Malakondaiah has said that the parcel and courier service in the Road Transport Corporation will be covered with insurance from April 1, 2017. It may be recalled that the parcel service was introduced in the RTC last year. The RTC netted Rs.15.50 crore through this service.
Amaravati: 152 doctors get promotions:: Medical Education Director Subba Rao said that 152 doctors working in Vaidya Vidya department have been promoted. Those working as Assistant professors have been promoted as Associate Professors. The doctors have been asked to report at his office on Saturday from 10.30am to 5.30pm.
Kurnool:: Muzaffer Ali takes over as Urdu University Vice Chancellor::K.Muzafeer Ali assumed as the first Vice-Chancellor of Dr.Abdul Haq Urdu University on Friday. Vice-Chancellor Rayalaseema University Y.Narasimhulu who has been in-charge has handed over the charge to Prof.Muzaffer Ali.
Machilipatnam:: Doubling of rail line by 2019 end:; Machilipatnam MP K.Narayana on Friday said doubling and electrification of Vijayawada-Machilipatnam rail line would be over by 2019. Doubling work between Gudivada and Machilipatnam was on, he said.
Vijayawada:: Over 75 lakh vehicles to be fitted with HSRPs:: Minister for Transport, Road and Buildings Siddha Raghava Rao said that the Transport Department has got High Security Registration Plates fitted to 22 lakh of the 97.06 lakh vehicles on the rolls. He stated this during the question hour in the Legislative Council in a reply to a question by Pappala Chalapathi Rao. The Minister said that it would require more time to fit the balance of 75.06 lakh vehicles with HSRPs.
