  • Amaravati:: Ugadi on March 28:: Almanac writer Srinivasa Gargeya met Chandrababu Naidu and suggested him that Ugadi should be celebrated on March 28. He along with Kanchikamakoti Siddhanti L.Subramanyam, Hanumanta Vajjala Subramanyam informed him that since there is no Padyami on March 29, Ugadi should be celebrated on March 28, they said.
  • Amaravati:: SSC examination paper leaked within one hour of beginning the exams:: On the first day of SSC examinations on Friday, Telugu Paper I examination paper was leaked within half-an-hour after commencement of the examination at Madakasira Government High School B Centre. According to sources, a girl student of Mata English Medium has given the paper to her friends Eswar, Ganesh and Bhaskar who were waiting outside. They took the picture of the paper and returned back to the girl student. The paper was posted on WhatsApp created sensation. School Education Commissioner Sandhya Rani ordered an inquiry on the leakage of the paper.
  • Kakinada::Special training for Eamcet aspirants:: Special training will be imparted to help AP Eamcet aspirants from the rural areas familiarize themselves with the online mode of examination being introduced for the first time this year according to test convener Ch.Sai Babu in a statement on Friday. JNTU-K would be conducting the test on April 28 and the last date for online application forms without late fee was March 21.
  • Rajamahendravaram:: Special financial Package better than SCS:: BJP MLA Akula Satyanarayana on Friday said that the Union Cabinet’s nod for special assistance to the State was an answer to all the questions raised by the opposition parties. Speaking to media here, he said that the special measure was far more better than Special Category Status.
  • New Delhi/Hyderabad:: YV Subba Reddy appointed as member PAC:: YSRCP MP Y.V.Subba Reddy has been elected unanimously as the member of Parliamentary Estimates Committee. TDP MP Konakalla Narayana, TRS MP K.Kavita too were elected unanimously as members of the PEC. On the other hand, BJP MP Kambhampati Hari Babu, TRS MP B.Vinod Kumar, TDP MP Nimmala Kristappa were elected as members of Public Undertakings Committee.
  • New Delhi:: Plastic Rs.10 notes in five cities soon:: Five cities across the country with diverse geographical and climatic conditions will be the first to start using plastic bank notes of Rs.10 denomination with the Centre approving a field trial. The notes are considered to be cleaner than paper currency will last longer and are difficult to counterfeit.
  • Tirupati:: Girijan cultural utstavams from Saturday:: The two day Girijan cultural utstavams will begin from Saturday at Mahati Auditorium here. Grijan Vidyardhi Samakha said that all arrangements have been made for the conduct of the event. According to sources, only 300 artists from Visakhaptnam, Paderu, Jeelugu Milli, Parvathipuram, Bhadrachalam are participating in the event. Lambadi, Dhimsa, Gussadi, Gondi, Tappetagullu etc., will be exhibited in the event.
  • Tirupati/Chennai:: Former TTD Member Sekhar Reddy gets bail:: Former TTD Trust Board Member Sekhar Reddy and his business associates were granted conditional bail by a CBI court. At present he along with his associates were lodged in Central Jail in Chennai. Those granted bail are Srinivasulu, Premkumar Reddy, Dindugallu Ratnam, Muttupette Ramachandran were arrested in IT raids during demonetization of high value currency.
