Kurnool:: White Paper sought on SC/ST Plan funds:: CPI State secretary K.Ramakrishna on Tuesday demanded the government to release a White Paper on utilization of SC/ST Sub-Plan funds. He who is also State convener of the Samajika Hakkula Vedika was here as part of the ‘Praja Chaitanya Yatra’ from Kurnool to Dhone, Kodumur, Yemmiganur and Mantralayam. Speaking to media, he said that the yatra would cover Adoni, Alur and Pathikonda on March 15 and later proceed to Anantapur district where it would culminate in a rally and a public meeting on March 18. The yatra from Itchapuram to Hindpur covering 175 Assembly constituencies began on January 26, he said.
Tundurru:: Opposition rallies behind food park opponents:: Representatives of YSRCP, Congress and Left Parties led by CPI(M) State secretary P.Madhu visited Tundurru, Kamsali Betapudi and Jonnala garuvu villages near Narsapuram and extended their solidarity with the people fighting against proposed Food Park on Tuesday. People of the three villages have been fighting against the food park for the last six months as they fear shortage of water for their agriculture fields and pollution.
Tirupati:: Fire breaks at a private hospital:: A minor fire broke out in a private hospital on Sarojini Devi Road on Tuesday. Sources said that the hospital officials swiftly to contain the fire and tried to salvage a few important items. They managed to extinguish the fire before the arrival of fire tenders. However, windows, walls and other electrical equipment were damaged. No loss of life was reported. Short circuit in the air-conditioning system was suspected to be the cause of the fire accident.
Vijayawada:: Chinese team meets Chandrababu Naidu:: The China Academy of Urban Planning and Design in Shenzhen has come forward to take part in Amaravati capital development. A delegation of CAUPDSZ met Chief Minister on Tuesday and outlined their plans to develop Amaravati. Chandrababu Naidu said his government was eager to develop Amaravati as an economic city on a par with Shenzhen. The State government was committed to developing all the regions right from Chittoor to Srikakulam. The CAUPDSZ could come up with necessary proposals in this regard, he said.
