The AgriGold Customers and Agents Welfare Association president said that they will take up 20 day ‘AgriGold Bhaditula Chaitanya Yatra’ from August 5 to 25 in All districts of the State.
The president of the Association M.Nageswara Rao said that the main aim of the yatra is to mount pressure on the State government to begin the disbursement of compensation to the victims of suicides and speed up process of the assets. He said that several delegates in the recent meeting expressed their doubts over the sincerity of the government in taking up the issue. He said that even after four months of the announcement of the Chief Minister on the floor of the Assembly about the payment of Rs.5 lakh as compensation, there was no progress. He said that the yatra will expose the lackadaisical nature of the government and lack of will to arrest the absconding directors of the company Avva Seetha Rama Rao and Moganti Bhanuji Rao.
He said that these directors were creating legal hurdles and stall the auction process by misleading the courts by promising higher returns for the confiscated assets. Two months back they have promised to get Rs.1,700 crore for four properties but they failed to do so. Again they are playing the trick to the four properties which were put to auction, he said.
‘We have formed a 19 member women’s wing of the association to interact with the women victims and bolster their confidence and morale. He said that as many as 142 customers and agents committed suicide in the State. The government was yet to pay compensation to the victims of the accidents and other calamities on the spot, is not showing any interest towards families of the victims who committed suicides in this scam.
