The State Cabinet that met on Tuesday approved to construct four lakh more houses during the next two years to take the total to 10 lakhs under NTR Housing.
- Addressing a press conference, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu said that two lakh houses would be constructed during this financial year and the rest in the next fiscal year. The cost of each house would be Rs.1.5 lakh. Of this Rs.92,000 would be government subsidy and Rs.55,000 would be under MGNREGS and Rs.3,000 IHHL. The houses would be constructed in an area of 200 to 500 sft.
- The State Cabinet approved the proposal to recruit 800 police constables – 6000 civil and 200 Armed Reserve.
- The Cabinet approved to offer a Group I post to Olympics winner P.V.Sindhu. For this, the government would have to amend the AP (Regulation of Appointment to Public Service and rationalization of Staff pattern and Pay structure) Act 1994.
- The State Cabinet decided to do away with beacon lights
