Members of AP Prateyka Hoda Sadhana Samiti today resolved to give a final thrust to special category status demanded by launching a massive protest across the State involving all political parties barring TDP and BJP in the month of March.
CPI(M) State secretary P.Madhu, CPI State secretary K.Ramakrishna, YSRCP city president Malladi Vishnu, Congress leader and former MLA Mastan Valli, CPI city secretary Donepudi Sankar, Samiti convenor Chalasani Srinivas and others participated in the round-table organized here. Ramakrishna said that both the TDP and BJP were cheating the people by not fulfilling the promises made on the floor of the House of the Parliament the promises made by the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
The senior Left leader found fault with the Centre suggesting World Bank loan for the construction of the capital ‘Amaravati’ when it is defined in the bifurcation Bill about the Centre’s responsibility. Centre is offering NABARD loan for Polavaram project which is absurd. Madhu said that while the State needed Rs.11,600 crore for establishment of medical and health departments, the Centre had allocated a meagre Rs.420 crore. When the State claimed a deficit budget of Rs.11,600 crore, the Centre calculated it as Rs.7,000 crore and released just rs.4,000 crore.
YSRCP city president Malladi Vishnu demanded resignation of two TDP MPs of Parliament and demanded Chief Minister to bring pressure on the Centre on the special category status.
