According to sources, the State government is planning to fill 2,000 Group I and Group II posts shortly.
At a review meeting today on the Panchayat Raj Department, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu said the recruitment would be made at the earliest. There was an urgent need for dedicated officials who would work towards development of the rural areas, he said. The government was keen on setting up a drinking water corporation and the modalities would be discussed during the Collectors’ conference during this week.
The Chief Minister asked the officials to prepare an action plan to prevent water borne diseases as the monsoon season was round the corner. Prevention of the spread of vector borne diseases was possible only if sanitation programme was taken up in a big way, he said.
‘Villages in the State would be rated based on their performance in seven identified parameters. A village that gets a 7 star rating would be declared a fully developed village. IT Minister Lokesh said that the Uddanam problem would be addressed by the end of July. Purified drinking water would be supplied under NTR Srujala Sravanti in the Uddanam area from July end.
