Visakhapatnam MP K.Haribabu said that the Central government would implement all the provisions in the AP Reorganization Act including the Polavaram project and fulfil all the promises in the coming days.

He disputed the claim that injustice was meted out to the State in the Union Budget, he said today. ‘It is immaterial whether there is a specific mention of Polavaram project in this Budget or not’, he said and added that the institutions like the IIM-Visakhapatnam, IIT-Tirupati, IIT-Tadepalligudem and the IIPE-Visakhapatnam were already functioning.. Only a few projects such as the Tribal and the Central Universities, railway zone, steel plant at Kadapa ad port in Dugarajapatnam were pending.

‘I am confident that the BJP will take a decision on these issues soon ad concede the demand the railway zone soon’, he said. Describing the Union Budget as pro-poor and pro-farmer, Haribabu said it would accelerate economic development and the NDA government would return to power at the Centre in the next general elections.

Meanwhile, in Tirupati, BJP State unit has cautioned its ally against getting sucked into the Opposition vortex without going through the positive features in the budget. Speaking to media, the party’s OBC Morcha State president Jally Madhusudhan expressed anguish over the Opposition’s hue and cry without going through the Budget details. He said that it was unfortunate that the TDP was distancing itself from the Budget and hurling stones at its alliance partner, thus falling prey to the ‘Oppostion’s designs’.
