The Hyderabad High Court today ruled that 17 years as the minimum as for getting admissions into MBBS course.
The High Court further clarified that as per the norms prescribed by the Medical Council of India making 17 years of age as the minimum age is a correct one. A Division Bench comprising of acting Chief Justice Ramesh Rangathan and Justice Abhinand Kumar Shavali dealing with a petetition filed by J.Sirisha challenging the Single Judge orders had issued the verdict.
According to sources, Sirisha was born in 2000 and completed her SSC at the age of 14 years with the permission of School Education and completed her intermediate with Intermediate Board permission and joined in MBBS in Kazikistan. The MCI has declined to conduct screening test resulting her father J.Mallesh challenged the same in the High Court. A Single Judge dismissed the petition which was challenged in the Division Bench that upheld the judgement of Single Judge.
