According to sources, the Vijayawada Police are planning to introduce the ‘No helmet – No Fuel’ rule in Vijayawada and Guntur.

City Police Commissioner D.Gautam Sawang at a programme organized by an NGO on traffic awareness on Sunday said that the rule will come into force from Monday in Guntur. He said that orders would be issued to all petrol bunks not to fill petrol, if the bike rider has no helmet. He said that the police will impose the rule to minimize road accidents. He asked the parents of the youth not to send their children on to the roads without helmets.

Guntur Urban Superintendent of Police Ch.Vijaya Rao said that they would act tough against those violators.

It may be recalled that ‘No fuel - No helmet’ rule introduces in Chittoor on September 14.
