‘Mudragada Padmanabham will be arrested if he takes out padayatra’, says DGP

Director General of Police N.Sambasiva Rao on Tuesday said that Mudragada Padmanabham would be arrested if he comes out of his house and tried to start his padayatra.

Sambasiva Rao said that Mudragada Padmanabham has no permission to take out padayatra from Kirlampudi to Amaravati. ‘As the route plan of the padayatra is proposed to cover many districts, permission for the programme has to be applied to the DGP but no one has sought it, he said. He said that police would take stern action against those who violated the prohibitory orders, he warned. He added that the police were not against any person or party but only lawlessness. Bind over cases have been booked only as a precautionary measure, he said.

Rapid Action Force and Armed Reserve police conducts march past

A curfew like situation is prevailing in Kirlampudi. The police are taking measures to prevent recurrence of incidents like burning down of Ratnachal Express in Tuni last year incident. One company each of the Rapid Action Force and the Armed Reserve Police on Tuesday conducted march past in Kirlampudi. Police appealed that no one should participate in the Padayatra as it has no permission. The police conducted the march past to instill confidence among the villagers but not to terrorize them, said Nayeem Asmi, ASP and special officer deputed at Kirlampudi. It may be recalled that Heavy police force deployed to foil Mudragada’s padayatra.
