The APCC president N.Raghuveera Reddy addressing a press conference at Indira Bhavan in Hyderabad today said that they would meet the Union Home Minister Rajanath Singh and explain to him the magnitude of the Visakhapatnam land scam.

Raghuveera Reddy said the Governor should ensure that the CBI conducted a thorough inquiry into the scam. The inquiry should be supervised by a sitting judge. The SIT set up by the government was not competent to handle the case, he said. The party would submit a detailed report to the Visakhapatnam District Collector on Tuesday.

The PCC president said that the Chief Minister was trying to dilute the matter by taking the line that the records pertaining to only about 250 acres were tampered with. He said that Field measurement books for 1.06 lakh acres all over the district had disappeared. Similarly, Settlement Fair Adangal copies were also missing and the Clear Maps of 233 villages out of a total 3,000 were also missing, he said.
