Director General of Police N.Sambasiva Rao speaking to media on Thursday said that the murder of Ayesha would be reinvestigated in the wake of the recent High Court verdict acquitting Satyam Babu who had spent eight years in prison.
The DGP said that there were several technical issues involved in the reopening of the case and legal advice had been obtained for the same. It was found that there was considerable scope for re-investigation. The statement came at a time when reports were coming that the government was serious in reopening the case with the purpose to nab the persons actually responsible for the crime. It may be recalled that the High Court acquits Satyam Babu in Ayesha Meera murder case – awards Rs.1 lakh in its judgement on March 31, 2017.
