YSRCP president Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy who called on the families of those killed and injured in the Yerpedu accident in which 14 persons were killed and over dozens of persons hospitalized demanded a CBI probe into the incident.

Speaking to media, he said that the villagers had been asked to go to the tehsildar’s office and then to the police station concerned. The villagers did not find the Tehsildar and the gates of the police station had been closed by the time they reached there. ‘Something is fishy. When we connect the dots, it looks more like a conspiracy than an accident’, he said. Jagan said that sand mafia had been ruling the roost in Srikalahasti constituency for the last three years and the Munagalapalem villagers had opposed sand mining many times and even lodged complaints. It may be recalled that 15 persons killed when truck rams into crowd near police station and many injured.
