YSRCP suspends Gowtham Reddy for his comments on Vangaveeti Mohan Ranga

The YSRCP today has suspended its trade union leader P.Gowtham Reddy for his unwarranted comments on Vangaveeti Mohan Ranga and also ordered the disciplinary committee to inquire into the matter and submit a report.

The comments of Gowtham Reddy to a channel triggered protests in the city today. The satellite channel released bits of his comments which went viral on social media forcing the YSRCP to condemn and disown them initially. The police took former MLA and YSRCP leader Vangaveeti Radhakrishna, son of Ranga into preventive custody. As the comments ignited protests aggressively resulting the party to place Gowtham Reddy under suspension.

A scuffle ensued between the police and the followers of Radha when the former prevented him from proceeding towards the party office to address a press conference. His mother and former MLA Ratna Kumari fainted in the melee and both of them were shifted to Ibrahimpatnam police station and later released.

Meanwhile, Gowtham Reddy tendered apologies to the Radha Ranga family.

Earlier in the day, party spokesperson K.Pardhasarthi said that everyone had respect for Ranga and Radha. The comments made by Gowtham Reddy were his personal. He said that the party would issue show cause notice to him and would take a serious note if any other leader or worker makes unsavory comments against any person or community in future.
