YSRCP lodges complaint against Balakrishna while TDP on RO to CEO

With the Nandyal by-elections coming faster, the main parties contesting in the election YSRCP and TDP are complaining to the Election Commission each other.

YSRCP today filed a complaint with the Returning Officer against Hindupur TDP MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna for distributing money during the election campaign. YSRCP leader and PAC chairman Buggana Rajendranath Reddy said that the party urged the Returning officer to taken action based on the video evidence of Balakrishna distributing money during the election campaign. He also complained against the government and consequently the TDP using Community Resource Personjs attached to Women SHG groups to threaten women in the groups and their families to vote for the TDP failing which the SHG groups concerned would not be refinanced. The YSRCP has urged the Returning Officer to protect the secrecy of universal adult franchise enshrined in the Constitution by preventing the TDP men from misusing students drawn across the State to go to each household under the guise of threating each of the households with verification of the paper trail produced by the EVM post voting and thereby deciding the benefits to be given or withdrawn to a family.

Police arrested 25 persons distribution money:: The Nandyal I Town Police today arrested 25 persons from various areas on the charge of distributing money among people while canvassing for their respective parties. Police sources said that the arrested are not the people from Nandayal Assembly constituency. However, they didn’t name the parties the persons belong. The issue is under investigation and sources said that nine of them are innocent.

YSRCP accused of election code violation:: The TDP has urged the Chief Electoral Officer to take action against the numerous election code violations by the YSRCP. TDP MPs Konakalla Narayana and Kesineni Srinivas complained that Jagan Mohan Reddy was inciting voters with his comments against the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and party leaders were distributing money on large scale voters. They also complained against ‘Sakshi’ media house claiming that the vehicles and persons of the media were instrumental in transportation of money for distribution among voters. The media house was telecasting and publishing news in favour of YSRCP candidate in violation of election code. The TDP MPs complained against the Returning Officer to the CEO of the poll claiming that he had imposed unilateral ban on the conduct of surveys by students. NGOs, government employees and others.
