YSRCP leaders meet DGP on ‘Praja Sankalp Yatra’

The YSRCP leaders today met the Director General of Police N.Sambasiva Rao informing him about the ‘Prjaa Sankalp Yatra’ proposed by party’s president Jagan Mohan Reddy from Monday, the November 6, 2017.

Party Political Affairs Committee members Ummareddy Venkateswarlu and Kolusu Parthasarathy and senior leader Botcha Satyanarayana said Jagan would tour all the 13 districts covering 3,000 km in about seven months. He would interact with different sections of the people, they said.

According to a senior police officer, the Opposition party could take up the padayatra and there was no need to seek permission specifically from the police for it. But, the party leaders should follow the guidelines framed by the Supreme Court of India.

As Jagan has ‘Z’+ category’ security, we will follow the protocol and provide security to him. Instructions have been given to the SPs of all districts to beef security for the padayatra, said the DGP to the party leaders. As per the Supreme Court orders, the organizers should submit the route plan to the police and weapons are prohibited in the march. An undertaking is to be given assuring peaceful yatra and an officer of the rank of SP or above should supervise and take ideograph it. In the event of any untoward incidents, the State shall file a petition in the High Court will all information for taking suo motu action.

Meanwhile, Jagan offered prayers to Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple today early hours. Speaking to media, he said that he had come to Tirumala to seek the blessings of the presiding deity for his ‘Praja Sankalp Yatra’. Later, he called on Swami Swaroopanandendra of Visakha Sarada Peetham at his local mutt and spent some time with him.
