YSRCP decides to scale up agitation on SCS – Dharna on March 5 at Jantar Mantar

A crucial meeting of the YSRCP chaired by its president Jagan Mohan Reddy held here today evening at his padayatra camp at Peddakonduru village in Udayagiri with party senior leaders, MPs and decided to scale up the agitation for Special Category Status all over the State.

The meeting has decided to organize a dharna at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on March 5. At the same time, the party also decided to expose what they described as the failures of the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and the ruling TDP Ministers and MPs at the national level in getting the Centre to fulfil the bifurcation promises.

Party general secretaries Bhumana Karunkara Reddy and Dharmana Prasada Rao, MPs V.Varaprasad Rao ad P.Mithun Reddy, MLAs regional coordinators and others were present in the meeting. According to sources, Jagan will flag off the team of MPs and other leaders who take part in the Delhi protest on March 3. The party cadre were asked to get ready and launch protest programmes to be held at all district Collectorates on March 1.

Karunkara Reddy said that they would go to the people with the slogan ‘right of AP people and special package was totally unacceptable’. He said that the party MPs were ready to resign for the cause of the SCS, he said. Dharmana Prasada Rao questioned why the Chief Minister remains silent while there had been strong public reactions from all section of people over the denial of the SCS and lack of expected financial support.
