YSRCP MPs stages walkout to press for SCS in Parliament

The MPs belonging to YSRCP today took a tough stand on the injustice meted to the State in the consecutive Budgets.

Vijaysai Reddy and Midhun Reddy spoke at length on the issue during the session, all the members of the party staged a walkout. They also staged a protest with placards outside the Parliament. The reference of the Special Category Status to the then Planning Commission had no significance because the Manmohan Singh Cabinet had already approved it on March 3, 2014, said Vijaysai Reddy.

He told to Rajya Sabha that he would to the Parliamentary Committee of Assurances on former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s announcement on the SCS. If the promises made by a Prime Minister in the House were not honoured, the only option available to the MPs was approaching the Committee.

Meanwhile TDP may suspend its protest on Wednesday:: The TDP MPs are unlikely to continue their protest in Parliament on Wednesday following Union Minister for Finance Arun Jaitely’s statement in Rajya Sabha today. According to sources, the TDP will suspend its protest for this session. It may be recalled that Arun Jaitley has assured to evolve a formula to clear the dues towards revenue deficit, which had been the bone of contention. With regard to Visakhapatnam Railway Zone, the TDP would wait until the next session. TDP MPs say that they would continue their protest in the next session if the issues does not move positively.
