YSRCP MP Mithun Reddy arrested at Chennai airport

The police have on Saturday night arrested YSRCP MP Mithun Reddy at Chennai Airport in a case related to the manhandling of an airport manager at Tirupati on November 26, 2015.

The police have from the midnight of Saturday have raided the houses of YSRCP leaders even before the arrest of Mithun Reddy. Six of the YSRCP MLAs were house arrested in anticipation of trouble that may arise.

Sources said that party leaders were in police custody in 68 police stations. Check posts have been established in the main thorough fares in Chittoor district. Section 144 and 30 Act has been in force in the entire Chittoor district.

Reliable sources said that Mithun Reddy will be produced before a Magistrate shortly. More news is awaited.

It may be recalled that Rajampeta MP Mithun Reddy was charged for allegedly slapping an Air India Station Manager Rajasekhar at Tirupati after an argument. Police based on the complaint registered against him and another 15 of his followers u/s 323, 353 and 448 of IPC. The MP allegedly slapped the Airport Manager for declining to issue boarding passes for him and his relatives as the boarding was already closed for a flight to Delhi.

Mithun Reddy sent to seven days remand

Mithun Reddy underwent medical tests at Srikalahasti Government Hospital and later produced before judge who remanded him for seven days. He is shifted to Nellore sub-jail. Biyyapu Madhusudhan Reddy too arrested along with Mithun Reddy

‘Chandrababu downfall begins’, says Chevireddy

YSRCP MLA Chevireddy Bhaskara Reddy speaking to media said that the downfall of Chandrababu Naidu has begun. He said that Chandrababu has converted the State as Call Mafia and sand mafia. He faulted the way in which the party MP was arrested. He said that Chandrababu is murdering the democracy. Protests are on in the district with the polie have arrested over 2,000 party activists.
