YSRCP MLA hits himself with his slippers over civil poll postponement for second time

YSRCP MLA of Proddutur Rachamallu Sivaprasada Reddy created a flutter by hitting himself with his slippers on his hands and forehead after the Municipal Chairman election was postponed for the second day amidst unruly scenes in presence of full public and police personnel.

Sivaprasad Reddy even threatened to resign from the Assembly and accused the TDP leaders of resorting to violence to get the election postponed for the second day. He said tht the district administration and the police with toeing their line. He accused that the TDP leaders and the officials made a mockery of democracy.

He accused the TDP leaders of acting in an unruly manner and getting the election postponed fearing defeat in the hands of former chairman V.S.Mukthiar of YSRCP who enjoys a support of 26 corporators in the 40 member house.

In the current circumstances, former MLA of Proddutur TDP in charge N.Varadarajulu Reddy threatened to resign from the party post after his efforts to get his brother-in-law and councillor Asam Raghurami Reddy as the chairman proved futile. Rajya Sabha member C.M.Ramesh tried to pacify him but he was said to be adamant as a rival group in the rulig party backed by AP Civil Supplies Development Corporation chairman M.Linga Reddy backed Mukthiar.
