YSRCP MLA Roja attends court in National Women’s Parliament issue

YSRCP Nagari MLA R.K.Roja who filed a case in the court for undermining her rights attended a hearing in the Additional Junior Civil Judge Court at Gannavaram on Friday.

The Civil Judge heard the arguments made by Roja’s counsel P.Gowtham Reddy. He argued that the could should take cognizance of the private case filed against DGP N.Sambasiva Rao, two Assistant Commissioners of Police and one Circle Inspector for confining her wrongfully when she same to attend the National Women’s Parliament at the invitation of Assembly Speaker Dr. Kodela Sivaprasada Rao.

The judge posted the case to March 24.

Telugu Desam Party activists reached the court and raised slogans against Roja. The police stopped them when they tried to follow her into the court. Earlier, former MLA and YSRCP Vijayawada president Vellampalli Srinivas alleged that the Vijayawada police had violated fundamental rights when he tried to lead a demonstration at the Dharna Chowk after applying for permission. He said he too would launch a legal battle against the ‘police excess’.
