In another blow to YSRCP, the party’s Central Committee member Vamireddy Prabhakar Reddy, a close associate of former Chief Minister Dr. YS.Rajasekhara Reddy announced on Monday that he resigned to all the posts and also the primary membership of the party as he could no longer adjust with the party’s top leadership.
This came a few weeks after Gudur MLA Pasam Sunil had quit the party and joined the TDP. Prabhakar Reddy considered to be a strong leader in Nellore since the beginning. He was once tipped for the Rajya Sabha nomination but it had not materialized. Announcing his decision at a press conference, he said that he had never asked for the Rajya Sabha seat but the YSRCP leadership would have considered giving such an honour to him going by the large scale service activities he had taken up for the party. He said that he had already met the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh in the past.
