Writer Nayani Krishna Kumari passed away

Famous Telugu writer Nayani Krishna Kumar today morning passed away.

Nayani Krishnakumari born on March 14, 1930 was born to Nayani Subba Rao and Hanumayamma in Guntur, a town in Andhra Pradesh, India. She is married to Canakapalli Madhusudana Rao, a lawyer and a distant relative in 1954. They have one daughter and two sons.

She developed interest in literature and has written a book ‘Andhrula Katha at the age of 18 years. The Andhra Pradesh State Government has made book as a text book in its syllabus. She did her B.A and M.A. in Andhra University. She worked as lecturer in Chennai for one year and later joined in Osmania University. She took her Ph.D and worked as Vice Chancellor in the year 1999.

She received several awards such as Swarnakankanam instituted by Desoddharaka Kasinathuni Nageswara Rao, Best Telugu Writer award from Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University, and Sahitya Akademi among others. Krishnakumari has been an active participant in literary and cultural events. She worked on Telugu ballads and obtained her doctorate in 1970. She has a master's degree in Sanskrit.
