Women techie K.Rasila Raju found dead on Infosys campus in Pune

A 23 year old IT employee working for Infosys at Hinjewadi IT park campus was found dead inside the office on Sunday evening.

According to sources, the techie K.Rasila Raju who was working as systems engineer was strangulated to death with a computer cable.

Police sources said that she came to office on Sunday to work on a project. ACP Vaishali Jadhav said that she along with two other employees of the company from Bangalore office. The two employees were coordinating here online from Bangalore when she was present inside the office.

The murder came to light at around 8pm when the security guard found her lying on the floor in the conference room. When her manager was trying to get her in touch but after 5pm when she did not respond to any call, he asked the security staff to check it up.

Rasila Raju, the deceased from Kozhikode, Kerala had been working with the company since 2015. She graduated from a prominent engineering college in Coimbatore and was recruited by Infosys two years ago through a campus interview. She then moved to Bengaluru from there to Pune. Her father O.Raju hails from Kuruvattur, a village in Kozhikode. He works as a Home Guard at Kunnamangalam police station. Her mother died of cancer a few years ago. Manoj, a relative said Rasila had been in touch with her family online just a few hours before the tragedy.

The police have detained Bhaben Saikiya, a 26 year old from Assam who worked as a security guard. He is now the prime suspect because he is the only one who would have had the access to room where Rasila was working. According to sources, a previous altercation between the deceased ad the accused over the latter’s alleged misbehavior is suspected to have led to the murder. The deceased had earlier warned him that she would complain to his superiors.

The management has informed the same to her family members.
