  • Speaker suspects sabotage behind the incident
  • YSRCP demands CBI probe

Speaker Dr.Kodela Siva Prasada Rao responding over the rain water flooded into the chambers of the Leader of the Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at the Interium Secretariat due to 20 minute rain suspected sabotage behind the incident. It may be recalled here that Rain water pours into Jagan’s chamber shows poor quality of construction, says YSRCP.

Kodela said that the water hasn’t happened accidently and suspect somebody did it to malign the reputation of the Assembly and the government. He added that somebody had deliberately cut the PVC pipe carrying the cables of the air-conditioning system and the CID would be asked to investigate.

He said that as per the preliminary investigation, the pipe that carries the cables from the terrace straight into Jagan’s office in the ground floor was cut at a point lower than the outlet for the rain. This had resulted in rainwater entering the PVC pipe instead of the outlet and into Jagan’s chambers, he said.

A complaint was lodged with the Tulluru police station. The police would examine the CCTV footage to zero the culprits. The Forensic Science Laboratory would also be asked to investigate the issue. He pointed out that there were no leakages then when heavy rain lashed when the Assembly session was on.

YSRCP demands CBI probe:: The YSRCP has dared the State government to order a CBI inquiry into the water leakage in the Assembly building. The demand comes following the Speaker’s assertion that the CID be asked to investigate the leakage. It may be recalled that the media was barred from entering into the building until Kodela Siva Prasada Rao escorted them to show the cut part of the pipe.

Minor incident shown out of proportion’, says Narayana:: Minister for Municipal Administration P.Narayana took strong objection to what he described as misinformation campaign by YSRCP. Terming it a minor incident that was resolved in no time, he said the Opposition leaders were blowing it out of proportion only with an ulterior motive of sabotaging the construction of a grand capital city. Speaking to media, he said that the meanness of the YSRCP is exposed here. ‘It seems that there is a deliberate attempt to cut the pipe and cause water leak to tarnish the image of Amaravati’, he said.
