Visakha Utsav – Veerabhadra Natyaym and Kommu dance, kite festival steals the show

The annual Visakha Utsav began on Friday with the participation of tourists from different States such as West Bengal, Jhakhand, Chhattisgarh and Odisha along with the State.

Unlike earlier years, the Visakha Utsav is being held at one single place at RK Beach and about four major venues have been set up along the 3 km beach stretch. Vedika is the stage for performing artists, Sannidhanam is where replicas of all the major temples in the State have been showcased. Parimala is where the flower show is organized and Jathara is where handicrafts stall have been kept.

The Ministers released the Telugu trailer of war film ‘Ghazi’ based on true incidents in Visakhapatnam. Actor Raja who played the main role pepped p the spirits in a lively interaction with people taking question on his much awaited sequel ‘Baahubali’ and his marriage. He delivered a dialogue form ‘Ghazi’.

On kite festival, students of various colleges participated which was inaugurated by HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao and Krishna Reddy. A fusion of Kuchipudi dance and Kerala martial art form Kalaripayattu was also presented. Magician B.S.Reddy performed a few items.

At Jatara, Veerabhadra Natayam and Kommu dance from East Godavari district, dances to folk songs were performed.
