Tucker is new AP Chief Secretary

Satya Prakash Tucker, Special Chief Secretary, Planning has been appointed Chief Secretary to the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

Tucker will succeed I.Y.R.Krishna Rao who will be retiring on January 31 on attaining superannuation. The government notified Tucker’s appointment through a GO on Friday. Krishna Rao will hand over the charge to Tucker on Saturday itself as January 31 happens to be a holiday.

It may be recalled that IYR Krishna Rao will head the AP Brahmin Welfare Corporation and the government has issued orders to this effect. He will hold the post for a period of three years form the date of assuming the charge. He is expected to take charge in the first week of February. The AP Brahmin Welfare Corporation, a government of Andhra Pradesh undertaking will serve marginalized sections of the community.

Satya Prakash Tucker is an IAS officer of 1981 batch was born on August 7, 1956. He graduated in B.Sc., and a post graduate in Law from University of Delhi. He held the post of Principal Secretary (Irrigation) from 2004 to 2010. He has more than three decades experience in developmental planning and has several innovative approaches to his credit.
